Check out our NEW Addition! - This is why we do what we do!

Edisto -

Edisto (Eddie) was found on an ad on Craigslist.  These two wonderful college girls found him.  However, all they had to feed him was cat food.  One of our volunteers found the ad, called the girls, and arranged to pick him up.

Eddie was very matted, and very scared.  However, with a hair cut and a bath, he is well on his way to finding a great home!

Why we do what we do!

Captain Jack Meet "Captain Jack!"  Captain Jack was found at the dump with a dacshund scrounging for food.  Obviously, he has seen much abuse, neglect, and pain in his life.  This wonderful soul has either been hit by a car, or some object with enough force to damage his eye.  Additionally, his teeth have been ground down and he has a severe underbite.  Nevertheless, we took in this baby fully prepared to love and care for him for the rest of his life.  This wonderful little dog will never find a home because of his health and appearance.  But this is EXACTLY why we do what we do! (Click on his picture to see more pics of Captain Jack!)

What we do:

We find wonderful dogs who are in "Kill" Shelters around South Carolina and take them in, fully vet them, and then hopefully place them in a wonderful "forever" home.

Costs:

  • Van Rental:  $420.00

  • Gas:  approximates $250.00

  • Accommodations:  approx. $100.00 - $300.00

How it works:

We scour the shelters in South Carolina.

We then:

  • Alter (spay or neuter)

  • Shots (all shots brought current)

  • Heartworms (Tested and placed on monthly preventatives)

  • Post and search for Great Homes!

Each pet is placed on Petfinder and or Adopt-a-Pet.  These two sites hopefully put our wonderful babies in front of a number of searches on the internet.

Why go to NY/NJ?

Well, the fact of the matter is that the base of potential new owners is so much greater there.

Transports

To insure that each of our great pets are travelling in the most conducive environment, we have chosen to transport them ourselves wherever possible.  These trips are a lot of work and can be very expensive, but we feel that it provides the best possible home for each of our wonderful babies.
